Vonnegut is trying to say that technology is cheating people of what they can become because they don’t let you do things to your full potential. He seems to feel strongly about the issue. He is both right and wrong for several reasons.
He is right because people have given in to technology and have given up on hard work and have just let the machines do everything, for example electrical wheelchairs, and calculators (to a certain point). He is also right because without technology we wouldn’t have nuclear war threats.
He is wrong for a few other reasons, some being that some humans have problems so they need technology to help them through everyday life (wheelchairs). And also because sometimes people have a shortage of time so things like calculators are good because they are efficient.

Hey Philippe i agree with your blog posting about how technology has prevented us from being the better man. I like your example of how we have let machines do everything. Also i agree with what you are saying about the calculator and how it has made people become slower at mental math. However, if you look at it in a different point of view, you may think that although calculators have made people slower at mental math, through faster and more efficient ways to solve math, us humans have been able to do more difficult and advanced things like outer space explorations. If we did not have calcultors, we would be certainly faster at mental math but we would not be fast enough at math to explore things like the outer space since it requires a lot of math and people would make a lot of mistakes and it would take a lot of time. Overall this is a very good post Philippe!
